International Planned Parenthood Federation

Born out of the then revolutionary idea that family planning should be a human right, the IPPF was founded in 1952 by a group of campaigners who faced hostility, even imprisonment, standing up for the rights of women to control their own fertility. Today the federation’s 141 member associations deliver sexual and reproductive health services to some 208.6 million people worldwide.
